• To assist the Indian private firms in achieving the ‘Make in India’ initiative and to test and improve their products, need was felt to streamline the guidelines for allotment and utilization of Proof/Field Firing ranges.
• SOP for Allotment and Utilisation of Proof and Field Firing Ranges by Private Defence Industry prepared by DGQA.
• Nodal officers have been earmarked
• Proof ranges under different departments of MoD :

DGQA: CPE, Itarsi, (b) LPR, Khamaria

OFB: OF, Varangaon. (b) AFK, Kirkee, Pune (c) Proof Range Sasrul (OF Kanpur). (d) HVF, Avadi (e) OF, Trichi. (f) RFI, Ichapore

DRDO: PXE, Balasore. (b) TBRL, Chandigarh.

ARMY: 13 Ranges
